The Second Annual Tartan Stroll was held in August 2009.  This event started in 2008 as a single event initiated by the Sons of Scotland BC District.  The BC Branch of the Kidney Foundation of Canada was so impressed by the event, that 13 locations were held this year in BC and renamed Tartan Stroll - Give the Gift of Life Walk.

At Vancouver's Trout Lake under cloudy and rainy skies on Sunday, August 9th.  The Stroll, that raised over $10,000 for the BC Branch of the Kidney Foundation of Canada, was attended by over 100 individuals who braved the blustery weather. Joining Sons of Scotland and Kidney Foundation members were representatives from the Gaelic Society of Vancouver and the Chinese Renal Unit.  Following the completion of the Stroll all participants were treated to a multi-cultural meal provided by the Chinese Renal Unit. Also following completion of the Stroll the skies cleared and the Sun came out – typical Vancouver!

In Penticton, Glamis Camp (Vancouver) members and families participated as as well as six members of the Okanagan Caledonian Pipe Band. All participants stepped off with the assistance of an OCPB piper and drummer. Total contributions raised for the Penticton Walk was approximately $4700.
