The
Executive Board takes great pleasure in announcing
a new scholarship named in honour of the Association's
Past Grand Chiefs.
The
Past Grand Chiefs Scholarship Fund will award two
$1000 scholarships to one male and one female candidate
annually. This scholarship is to be applied toward
second year tuition or related expenses at a recognized
Canadian post-secondary institution and will be presented
upon proof of enrolment.
All
members, their children and/or grandchildren are eligible
for this scholarship. In order to qualify, a member
of the applicant's immediate family must be a member
in good standing of the Sons of Scotland.
All
applications and related documents must be completed
and be received at the Sons of Scotland Head Office,
at 40 Eglinton Avenue East, Suite 202, Toronto, Ontario,
M4P 3A2, prior to June 30th. The applications are
available through Head Office and on our website at
www.sonsofscotland.com .
A
committee of the Executive Board will review all applications
and other materials submitted. The decision of this
committee will be final.
If
you have anyone in your family who might be interested,
we urge you to have them complete their application
and submit it for consideration. We trust that we
will have many qualified candidates from which to
select, and look forward to announcing our first Past
Grand Chiefs Scholarship Award winners in the fal

INFORMATION
General
information:
Two scholarships of $1000 each will be awarded to
persons (1 man and 1 woman) entering their second
year of full-time education at a recognised Canadian
post-secondary institution. This money will be applied
to tuition fees and/or related costs and awarded upon
receipt of proof of enrolment.
Eligibility:
The Past Grand Chiefs Scholarship is available to
Sons of Scotland members in good standing, or their
children or grandchildren. Applicants must have successfully
completed one year/semester of full-time study at
a recognised Canadian post-secondary institution.
Selection will be made mainly on the basis of academic
achievement. Families of Executive Board members are
not eligible.
Application:
Each applicant must fill out and submit the questionnaire,
transcripts of first-year of post secondary education
and secondary school, and three references. This information
must be received at the address below by June 30.

Selection:
The Selection Committee will be made up of three Executive
Board members, who will review the applications and
other materials submitted. They may conduct interviews
with the applicants if they choose. The decision of
the Selection Committee is final.
