The 5th annual combined Winnipeg Scottish community parade to commemorate the 1812 arrival at Red River of the Selkirk Settlers will be held this year on Saturday, 11 September. The Selkirk Settlers were the first European colonists on the Northern Great Plains. The parade route this year has been changed and lengthened, and will pass the sites of the fur trade era forts along Winnipeg’s historic Red and Assisniboine Rivers.
