Active
since 1876, Sons of Scotland is a fraternal association
for Scottish people and their decendants. We seek
to preserve and promote Scottish heritage and culture
in Canada, by keeping alive the great traditions of
history, literature and the music of Scotland.
As a fraternal benefit association, we are committed
to providing all our members with mutual help and
support, including insurance
coverage ranging from $5,000 - $120,000. We insure
one another and provide whatever coverage a member
requires.
Our
nation-wide association consists of branches (known
as camps) spanning from Montreal
to Vancouver Island. If you are a member of one camp,
you are a member of them all - you have a group of
friends ready to welcome you wherever you travel across
Canada.
The social side of our organization is one of the
main attractions for our members. Each month, there
are regular opportunities to meet with " folks
like yersel' ". Many of our fun activities include:
Hogmanay dances, Burns' suppers, St. Andrews nights,
Ceilidhs, picnics, trips and regular dances.
Our
members range in age from three weeks to ninety seven
years. There is something for everyone...the young
and the young at heart!
